Best kinda day

Well, paperwork for the name change is all done, DL and passport are on the way!  Time to relax :)
Since I got the news that my cholesterol was in the 350 range in late January, I've been doing the low carb thing again. Two major differences this time around- I'm not being uber strict about it and my support system is flat out amazing this time around. She makes me food and keeps food in the house that's safe for me to eat, or that I'm not interested in eating! Much amaze.
I'm getting tested again in three days. We'll see what the numbers look like. Weight numbers have come down 20lbs, so that part is nice. I haven't had a single cheat day in two months, so the day of testing is officially named carbohydrate day. Gonna eat me some carbs, hoo boy. I'm guessing that I'll put back on 3-5lbs, but I don't give a damn. I've been craving bagels like crazy. I'll go back to low carb until the docs are in a better mood about my weight.
I'm not dreading it so much because of how awesome Julie's been. She's the tops, really.
I'm also getting a minion at work- it's between an internal hire and an external hire. I'm really not sure what's the best way to go. I'll be talking with management tomorrow, hopefully they will help me figure it out.
This fellow doesn't have a thing to worry about.

Thing are a-changing

I was a Henneberger for 23 years. I've been an Atkins for the past 16. It's time to move along, me thinks. I had a dream telling me it was time and because I'm just like that, I agreed with myself and I filed that week.  That was last week and I've been slogging through all the various other places that need correcting. Man, there are a lot.
I've been surprised about who will just take my word for it and who wants paper documents. Some places I even have to go to the physical location. Some make sense, like my bank accounts, but why the cable company needs to see my face...  It's all a little strange.
I've told Julie (obvs), HR and the IT guy at work. I'll be telling the folks tomorrow at weekly dinner. Other people will know as it comes up. Facebook will know once I have the papers in hand.
The court order hasn't been finalized yet, they have to do a background check then it takes two weeks for them to file. I was also surprised that I don't have to make a court appearance, but that was a happy thing!
Other happy things
And it's flipping awesome. I'm through the ribbing on the second one, and the construction is quite engaging.
The other happy thing is this handsome fellow
He's Julie's cat, Zephyr. Super awesome fella, he does this adorable paw tap thing like he's nervously asking for attention.

Hello again world

It's been awhile. Life has changed a bit. Kro is gone, but I still have all the friends I met through him. I still freaking love Vermont, I still have the best job ever, my family is still flippin great and the fart master hate sausage Mal is still kickin. The big change is the best one, as far as I can see.
I've got this amazing lady in my life now.
It's late, I'm tired, but I think I'll be picking this blogging thing back up now.

Hello January!

SO happy new year merry xmas etc etc
We went to hibatchi for new years, and it was awesome.

I got to see Dusty and Lisa again, yay! and that other guy, ya know, the one with the beard? OH YAH, teh boyfriend, Kro. So he's now officially made his blog debut. If you've only seen the angry FB pictures of him, he is never actually actually looking that angry. Even if you poke him. He usually just giggles when you do that.
um...
I should rephrase that. When I poke him. Otherwise he might actually look angry, you shouldn't just go around poking people any way! That would be RUDE! Wierdo, wanting to go around poking people. sheesh, why do I hang out with you again?
Steering the car (the blog) back into the correct lane...

And now for a story in pictures.
Oliver in his usual spot when I'm on the couch. Catching up with some VlogBrothers (who are totally awesome and you should go watch them. They have a FAQ, that will catch you up)

THEN OH LOOK! He got into my lap! Turning into a normal kitty! He is so awesome, I will gush about him constantly.

Uh oh, sensing trouble in the background...

OH HAI you want mah ball? CANT TOUCH MAH BALL!!! (stink eye of doom)

oh, don't want my ball? ah, mehbeh I'll just sits here...

honkshuuuu honkshuuu (kitty and dog snoring noises)

The end.

Small things

So, yes.

It snows here.
Mal is still very fond of the snow.
U has ball?
(I have child hood memories of putting fake icicles on some house like structure, but they are very fuzzy memories, so I will label them in St. Joes time period. Most things are fuzzy from there)

But now I have MY OWN REAL ONES.
First real accumulation of snow (and icicles)

And Mal enjoys her romp

Then the next one!

I will more than likely be tracking this fella,
(at the end of the window frame now, it's hard to see) until I get bored, break it off the house and pretend to have an ice spear of doom.
Or if it falls off in this STUPIDLY windy storm we are currently having. (But I'd rather have the wind than the 30 inches accumulation that some are getting, only slightly whiny)
Oliver, tho, stays primed in his kitty cannon.

I have a theory that the heat will build up behind him and he will gently pop out of it one day. Until then, he waits.
I has play.
Oliver apparently was never ever ever allowed outside, he is terrified of the big room without a ceiling that is very very cold. I've not had a cat like this before.

He is still very cute, and fluffy. I just today realized that he makes noises like Simon's Cat, but is much much more polite.
ALSO
I made a sweater!
Do you remember tiiiinnny bubbles?

I doooo! It came out lovely

As did Meg's wee baby!

Alternately I worried about it being too small, or too large. Turns out no troubles :)
....And I cannot resist
It all turned out well,

IN THE END.

Things that go ding

I was informed at Thursday's D&D game, that the only appropriate time to say "DING" is when your character levels.
I beg to differ, as demonstrated below, by my awesome radiator covers. (That Dad and I made a while ago, but I have not shared them with you yet, my faithful 3 readers)
Kitchen Before:

After:
DING
Bathroom Before:

and After:
DING
Bedroom before:

Bedroom After:

er. Mostly ding
I'm not willing to take it off the radiator for the time it will require to putty, sand and paint it. I enjoy the extra heat and nightstand it gives me. Cosmetics can certainly wait until spring.
I've made all the other ones, but they are waiting for metal grate to be purchased or are...

Unaccessable for a portrait
There is a mildly good reason for the terrifying dining table, I have a ALMOST completed mud room, and the dust is spectacular. THAT will be the next post!
To say farewell for now
Doubtful Agent Booth and Doubtful Oliver confer...

yup, it's a mess in there..

ZZzoooommm!

My mommy has been busybusy!

Zoom! I follow her from one room!

Zooom! to the next!
wait...

WHAT! who is that?
Hello, I am Oliver, dignified and fluffy

My dignified fluffy belly does NOT hang over the mantel piece. I will look away from you now, sniff...

HEY What about MEEEeee

I am Toby (October, duh)!

I like to eat brains! and purr
No brains here...
And terrify me.

That's true. She will not let him touch the floor. (where the litter box is, most importantly)
(tattle tale)
Even Nathan Fillion cannot make her behave.
Twins!
So this is going to be just my temporary home, until I go back to the shelter, where they will next place me WITHOUT another kitty
numero uno kitty
I am fond of using the litter box...
HALP!!
So Toby will be here, happily munching on unsuspecting noggins
nomnom
Until arrangements are made (no-kill, very responsible and well run shelter, and yes, I feel terribly, but everyone will be in a better place this way)
Brains?
In sillier news, I found Malichai's twin

Hey, Vermont- Still lovely?

Yep.
